Barnes & Noble. Borders. Waldenbooks. Wherever you feel like going, chances are you will find the NEW BSC GRAPHIC NOVEL!!!

I started hearing that people in Chicago, and North Carolina, and New Zealand, and Nova Scotia had bought The Truth About Stacey already, so I decided to investigate for myself, at B&N on West 66th Street in Manhattan. Dave and I had one of those lovely, lovely moments where we found the new book, sat down right there in the aisle at the store, and just read and read and read. It didn't hurt that it was a glorious, sunny fall day...in fact...

It was almost exactly a year ago that I went out to the West 60s to shoot reference for this very book (a portion of which takes place in New York City). And it was the same kind of day as this. So walking back to the subway, we re-traced my Stacey-steps, looking at stuff that was now in the book and on the shelf, drinking warm apple cider from a greenmarket, stopping in Central Park to enjoy the weather and the trees, and just feeling giddy and happy. I'll make another post at some point with some of my various points of reference & photos used in the books so far.

This is one of my favorite pages in the new book, and one people have really responded to so far. I only had 6 months to draw this book, but I gave it my all, and I hope it shows!

Official release date for Stacey is still set as November 1, so I'm not sure if orders from places like Amazon will ship till then, or when comic stores will get it. I'll keep you guys posted. I'm having an official 'release party/signing' at Rocketship in Brooklyn, on Sunday, November 12 at 4 PM. It'll be a team signing with my friend Abby Denson, and this will be a super kid-friendly event, complete with free ice cream and cookies! Rocketship is one of the coolest comic stores I've ever been to, so you should come and check it out.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported me and my work up till now. You guys rock.

--Oh! And I should note that my desk really, actually looks like that at the moment--I did NOT re-arrange things for this picture! I was in the middle of drawing SMILE, and my materials were placed just so.
